How to Enrol

Four steps to enrol on a BPPEC course

Step 1: Choosing your qualification

Once you are ready to know more about the British independent schools, the first step is to work out which level you want to achieve. BPPEC BIS qualifications are designed to be studied progressively. Passing the examination at the Foundation Level is a prerequisite for joining the Practitioner Level, but how far you would like to progress depends on your personal goals.

Take the time to review the information about each qualification on our website to understand the learning outcomes and study commitments required.

Step 2: Choosing a course provider

BPPEC courses are offered by a network of third-party providers called ‘Programme Delivery Partners’ or ‘PDPs’ for short.

To achieve a BPPEC qualification, you will first need to enrol onto a course with a PDP.  Depending on the situation in different countries, your course may take place in a classroom or online. At the end of the course, you will need to participate in an examination. At the moment, it is not possible to self-study for a BPPEC examination. The examination must be completed in-person through the PDP you enrolled on the course with.

All PDPs undergo a rigorous approval and monitoring process to ensure they meet the high standards expected, both to teach BPPEC qualifications and to administer exams in accordance with BPPEC policy.

It is recommended to contact the PDP and ask questions to ensure the PDP matches your study needs. You may want to consider factors such as location, course availability and what delivery options are offered. Please note that course fees could vary slightly between PDPs.

Step 3: Enrolling on the course

Once you have found the course and the PDP for you, you should follow the registration process as advertised by the PDP. You need to bring an official photo ID (passport, government ID card, driver’s licence etc) to verify your age at enrolment, as you must be 18 and above to study for a BPPEC qualification. All payments for your course should be made directly to the PDP.

Your chosen PDP will provide you with materials you need to successfully achieve the learning outcomes, including the relevant course specification and a BPPEC textbook in print. Any questions you have during or after your study should be directed to your PDP.

You can find the details of our PDPs on the ‘Where to Study’ page and contact them directly. Alternatively, you can leave a message on ‘Contact Us’. We will get back to you with available options and suggestions.

Step 4: Receiving your certificate

At the end of your course, you will sit a BPPEC qualification examination. All BPPEC examinations are close-book and invigilated. You should refer to the qualification Specification to review the examination process and assessment format for your chosen qualification.

Your examination papers will be sent to BPPEC for marking. BPPEC aims to mark the examination papers within five working days after receiving them.

BPPEC will then issue your results and certificates to the PDPs. Your PDP will then distribute the certificate to you.
